It’s Finally Here

Here is the card I promised.  It is made with CTMH’s Babycakes paper pack.  The pack has some but not all baby themed paper included.  I used the paper for a birthday card.  The stamp is a Hostess Rewards stamp that I cut apart(gasp).  I only just started doing this recently.  That is what is great about CTMH’s acrylic stamps.  They are easy to cut with scissors or a craft knife.  I cut them apart because I wanted to repeatedly stamp the “Celebrate” and didn’t want to do a lot of masking.
Please continue reading after the card and supply list.  I have treated you to other cards I have made recently.

Long Time No Post

I haven’t posted in almost a week.   It seems like I post fairly regularly for a few days and then I just can’t seem to have the time to post.  Nothing too eventful happens.  It’s just the everyday of life.  I try to spend the weekends with my girls and not too much time on the computer.  I do have cards too share.  For today’s card, I am using the September constant campaign again.  The name of the set is You Are My Happy.  I have a card pinned on pinterest that I had for inspiration.  It is from stampinconnection.com.  I pinned that I had to find a sentiment stamp so I could make the card.  I think this sentiment in the stamp set works.  Check back tomorrow when I use Baby Cakes( a baby paper) for a non baby card; and you thought I forgot.

A Butterfly Birthday Card

Today’s card is using the constant campaign of Close To My Heart for September, You Are My Happy.  This card uses the butterfly.  I used three colors that are in the paper pack Chantilly that I used on yesterday’s card.  I stamped in a row alternating colors as I went.

Love You To Pieces

It’s a cool morning this morning, and  I haven’t had my coffee.  I might be taking Abbie to the doctor’s and will get a large coffee then.  I can’t wait (for the doctor’s no, for the coffee, yes).  I’ll make this post short.  I wanted to use this stamp and make it look like an embroidery hoop.  I went in to Cricut Craft Room and used an ornament shape and then used a circle placed in the middle.  The Cricut Craft Room cut it perfectly.  I just had to trim a little from the top to get the desired shape.  I colored the ribbon using reinkers.

Another week , another card

Good Monday morning everyone.  I hope you had a great weekend.  My weekend was filled with spending time with Pare’ and Abbie and trying to clean house.  Not too much progress on the house cleaning.  I did work with my camera and found out how to make and watch video.  I’m hoping to have a video made in the coming weeks.  I just have to figure out how to post it here.  I’m not too techy went it comes to computers.  It is more of a trial and error kind of thing.  Abbie does help me a lot, and for that, I am very grateful.  I also worked with taking pictures with natural light(that’s not outside like most of my previous posts).  I think I found the right time of day for taking pictures in my craft area.  I’m sure all this is boring you so I’ll get to the card.
Here is the card I made using Close To My Heart’s new constant campaign for September.  It is called You Are My Happy.  It is a three stamp set.  It comes with a cute image sheet, a quote sheet, and a complete alphabet sheet(including large and small letters plus numbers). This is a great set.  I used the bunny, sun, one of the quotes, and the alphabet set for my card.

A Sympathy card

It is gray and gloomy outside this morning.  It is actually the kind of day that I like to stay in my craft area and make cards.  That is what I’m planning to do after I finish this post so I’ll have more to share in the upcoming days.  Today’s card is a sympathy card.  I found a card like it on pinterest from Amy O’Neill at amyoneillblog.com.  I like the way it turn out and am planning on making more with different sentiments.  I have a hard time making the same card twice.

All Things Fall

The summer is coming to an end.  I hate to see it go.  I like my children home with me during the summer. I am looking forward to the beautiful colors of fall and talks and laughter around the fire.  Today’s card is a reflection of all things fall.  I used one of my favorite papers from the current  Autumn/Winter Close To My Heart idea book, Huntington.  It is great for fall cards, fall scrapbook pages, and especially masculine cards.

Babycake Baby Cards

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in over a week.  Life seems to happen way too quickly.  I have been busy making card, and since I haven’t posted anything for so long, I’m giving you two cards today.  These cards are from the new paper Babycakes from Close To My Heart.  Although these cards are baby, I plan on making non-baby cards to show that the name shouldn’t stop someone from using the paper.  The first card is using a technique for the rays I found on a Stampin’ Up(Sh! Don’t tell.) demonstrator’s blog.  Her name is Dawn Olchefske at dostamping.typepad.com.

The next card was inspired by two cards I found on pinterest.  They were originally pinned from splitcoaststampers.com.  This website is great for inspiration, tips, and techniques.  For my card, I took two cards that were similar and combined into one for my card.

All That Glitters

Hello everyone.  Pare’ and Abbie are back to school after a three day weekend, and the house is back to being quiet.  We did have some excitement this weekend.  Our momma cat, a stray from two years ago, had kittens.  We were able to see them being born.  This wasn’t the first time, but it is still something amazing to watch.  You never know, they might be the youngest Super Cat Sunday on my blog.
On to today’s card.  I used the cricut craft room again.  I used it to cut the circle out of the frame.  I then mix CTMH’s Stardust glitter gel and twilight reinker to make my own glitter and painted on the frame.  I had extra glitter and added it to various parts of the paper.  I used the zip strip(FUN-FILLED DAY  You’re Sweet) also on the card.  The zip strip the is on top of all CTMH’s background and texture papers.  This strip is an extra element you can use in your paper crafts.  The stamp I used is called Holiday Tags.  I love this stamp.  It has all the major holidays, two birthdays, and two “to and from” stamps(great for making tags).

Wall Art

Do you remember my corkboard from Friday?  Scroll down to find it if you haven’t seen it already.  At the end of that post, I told you I was going to do something with the scrap foam core board.  I have seen inspiration on pinterest on wall art in craft rooms.  I decided I could do this with the foam core board, scrapbooking paper, and my trusty cricut.  So, I got to work.
I have been playing with the cricut craft room.  Oh! It is so much fun and a great design tool.  With cricut craft room you can build layers to assemble it to see how it will look cut and finished.  I am a very visual person so this is great feature of the cricut craft room.   I pulled up CTMH Art Philosophy and picked the square.  I enlarged it to six inches by six inches, the size of my board for layer one.  I then pulled up CTMH Artiste and picked the scissors for layer two.  I then enlarged the scissors to where I thought that they were an appropriate size by dragging the scissors(layer 2) over onto the square(layer 1).   I then did the same for the spool (layer 3), the thread(layer 4) and button(layer 5).   The button is found on the Artiste cartridge, and I used the outer circle layer from Art Philosophy.  I love that you can use different cartridges on one item. Note:  I did not cut out the square because this was only used for sizing.
PICT0362  This is it on the wall.  I cut a seven by seven square of three different  scrapbooking paper and wrapped the foam core board. I then attached the scissors, spool, and button with foam tape.  I inked around the edges of the squares and cutouts to give an aged look.  Below are individual pictures.
PICT0365 I cut out the scissors twice in the silver paper and trimmed to make two blades.  I cut the circle with a large hole punch.
PICT0364 I used Herringbone cuddlebug folder to represent thread.

PICT0363 The outer circle layer adds dimension to the button.

SUPER CAT SUNDAY

Do you believe that cats can fall in love?  I do.  The below picture captures the love of  two cats Mater and Buttons.  Buttons is a year younger than Mater, but she has liked him since she was a little kitten.  She would cuddle with him to sleep and play with him.  He is always so patient and kind.  They spend a lot of time together.  I have always said that Mater was Button’s boyfriend.
My husband was going outside and called me over to the door.  I went to get the camera and took a picture.  Cats are like kids.  They don’t cooperate.  Mater has laying down but chose to stand up for the picture.  Buttons has excellent taste.  Mater is very handsome.
