Keeping the Calm
Monday August 5, 2013
The KEEP CALM decor is very popular right now, and I wanted to make one for my craft area.
I’ll show you how I made it. I found this .25 8x10 picture frame at one of my favorite thrift stores. Sorry for the glare.
After I sanded it, I mixed white acrylic paint with my Close To My Heart pacifica reinker. Sorry, I don’t have a ratio, I just poured in some paint and added about 15 to 20 drops of reinker. You can use more or less to achieve your desired color.
I then painted three coats of the paint. I stored the extra paint in a plastic container to use again for another project. Check back later to find out what. For the background paper, I used a paper from Close To My Heart’s retired Elemental paper packs. One of all time favorite paper pack. I cut the letters and crown from pacifica cardstock with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. Both are from Close To My Heart. The letters are cut at 1 1/2 inches and the small letters are cut at 1 inch. The crown is cut at 1 1/4 inches. I glued the cardstock letters onto the patterned paper, eyeballing the center, with a glue pen. I like how it turned out. I might make some of these for gifts. Pare’ has already requested one.
